Measure tool

Measure the property before you ever drive to it

Type an address, pan and zoom a live satellite map, and draw each lawn, roof, driveway, or bed as its own layer. Every layer carries its square footage, linear feet, or count into a priced estimate — with a marked-up PDF for the customer.

Included on every Servato plan. Starts at $149/mo. Cancel any time.

What's included in Servato's satellite measuring tool

  • Live satellite map — imagery streams in as you pan and zoom, no reload button
  • AI outline — tap a lawn or roof and the visible edge is traced from the imagery in seconds; drag any point to adjust
  • Area, line, count, circle (radius/diameter), rectangle, and traced-curve tools
  • Independent layers: color, quantity label, show/hide, duplicate, move, reshape, delete
  • Trade-aware slope and roof-pitch factors adjust quantities before pricing
  • One-tap client-ready PDF of the marked-up map with a quantity table
  • Works on job photos and plan PDFs too — same tools, same layers

Without Servato

Driving out just to measure
Every site visit before a quote is an hour of windshield time. High-volume crews can't afford it for 40 quotes a week.
Measurements that die in a screenshot
A number scribbled on a satellite screenshot still has to be retyped into the estimate — and retyped again into the invoice.
One blob for the whole yard
Turf, beds, driveway, and roof each price differently. If the tool can't keep them separate, the estimate can't either.

With Servato

Quote from the office
Search the address, outline the areas, and send a priced estimate without leaving your desk. Save the visit for jobs you've already won.
Every layer becomes a line item
Zones flow into the takeoff and estimate as separate lines with your pricebook rates — sod, mulch, concrete, shingles — nothing retyped.
Show the customer what you measured
Attach the marked-up map PDF to the estimate so the homeowner sees exactly which areas are included.

satellite measuring tool — FAQ

Is the satellite measuring tool an extra charge?
No. Visual measuring over satellite imagery, job photos, and plan PDFs is included with every estimator seat on every plan. AI plan takeoffs from full PDF sets are the only pay-per-project item.
How accurate are satellite measurements?
Quantities are computed from the map's real-world scale at your zoom level, so accuracy depends on how closely you trace the edge. Use the slope and roof-pitch factors so sloped surfaces aren't under-counted, and confirm on-site for anything tolerance-critical.
Can I measure curved beds or round features?
Yes. Trace curves by dropping points along the edge, or use the circle tool for round features — it shows radius, diameter, and area as you drag.
Does it outline areas for me?
On a satellite session, turn on AI outline and tap a lawn or roof — Servato traces the edge it can see in the imagery, usually in a few seconds, and you can drag any point afterwards. It's a head start, not a survey: check the edge, and hand-trace anything it can't separate (shaded or mixed surfaces) — it tells you when it couldn't find a shape rather than guessing.
Does it work in Spanish?
Yes. The measure tool, layer panel, and the exported PDF are fully bilingual — each user picks their language.
